Software

Open-source software developed and maintained alongside the academic and advisory work.

A small set of open-source projects is developed and maintained by Jakob in his own time. Each project has its own page; the source is on GitHub under the MIT licence, and every tool installs from one Homebrew tap.

Command-line tools

Converges a machine to a declared spec kept in a folder of human-readable files.

macOS, Linux

Portable git shortcuts plus an overview and sync across a folder of repos, as one binary for zsh, bash and fish.

macOS, Linux

Measures llama-swap model memory footprints and generates a co-residency matrix, so as many local models run at once as fit in VRAM.

macOS, Linux

Measures any speaker with any microphone and builds a PipeWire EQ profile from the result.

Linux

Keeps a music library uniform: Opus audio with complete tags, cover art and lyrics.

macOS, Linux

Syncs user-level configuration between machines through a cloud folder, using symlinks.

macOS, Linux

Installing

All tools are published in the jakobhviid/tap Homebrew tap, with prebuilt binaries for macOS and Linux. Homebrew 6 and later load a third-party tap only once it is trusted, so the tap is trusted first:

brew trust --tap jakobhviid/tap
brew tap jakobhviid/tap
brew install jakobhviid/tap/<tool>

Parts of each project were written with the assistance of AI coding agents, with every change reviewed by the maintainer; this is disclosed in each project’s README.
