Jakob Hviid works across industry, academia, and the public sector. He is a Senior Solution Architect at Mjølner Informatics, working at the intersection of the energy sector and supporting IT and OT technologies. Current engagements focus on architecture and Data Governance advisory in the Danish Energy and Utilities domain.
He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (Software Engineering), teaching Data Management and Big Data and Data Science Technologies, supervising master’s, bachelor’s, and PhD students, and pursuing research on software architecture for the green energy transition, scalable AI systems, and IoT and data middleware.
Outside his commercial and academic roles, Jakob contributes to public-sector advisory work in the Danish and EU energy domains. He currently serves as External Expert Evaluator for EUDP (the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme, under the Danish Energy Agency), and previously contributed direction-setting on the Danish Utility Digitalisation Programme as Chief Advisor at the Danish Energy Agency, alongside Danish national representation in the EU Smart Energy Expert Group. This work has spanned whitepapers, expert evaluations, talks, and policy direction-setting.
He holds a PhD in Software Engineering from SDU (2019), with 20+ years of industry experience underpinning his research and advisory work.
